The Morphology of Desire

An animation of American book covers, laced together. The separate book covers merge together fluently, which sets the still shapes of the pairs in motion. The painted men and women exchange a first glance and turn towards, and away from each other, in an attempt to control their desire.Just as the stories that they illustrate, the covers of the pulp books were made according to a strict protocol. It is as if The Morphology of Desire comments on these clichs, while at the same time it serves as propaganda for these images and an analysis of body language during the game of desire.2 Dec 2000, 00:00 > 5 Jan 2001, 23:59
